Three Ways to Get to Staniel Cay

Even our most discriminating clientele have thoroughly enjoyed the level of excellence we’ve curated with our modern furniture, sophisticated architecture, endless amenities, and easy access to all of Staniel Cay’s most engaging activities (swimming pigs included).

Here are a few ways to get from Nassau to Staniel Cay. Hint — you can’t drive. You’re looking at flying or boating.

1. Take a scheduled flight

Staniel Cay is only about a half-square mile in length, but the island has its own airport called the Staniel Cay Airport. Flying is the fastest option to get to Staniel Cay, as it only takes 30-40 minutes from Nassau Airport – plus, you’ll have a stunning view of blue waters the whole way.

You might know a couple of airlines from Fort Lauderdale and Miami that fly to various Bahamian islands, but those options aren’t always available from Nassau.

Here are two airlines offering Staniel Cay flights:

  • Titan Air: This family-owned company offers daily scheduled flights from Nassau to Staniel Cay. Since these flights are more commercial and accept a larger number of guests, pricing is relatively affordable (under $500 round trip).
  • Flamingo Air: You may have used this airline to fly down to The Bahamas from Florida. Luckily, they also offer regular flights from Nassau to Staniel Cay as well. Pricing is pretty comparable to flights from Titan Air.

You won’t find commercial airlines like American Airlines or United flying planes from Nassau to Staniel Cay. But technically, the above airlines aren’t really traditionally commercial because even though they fly within the US and The Bahamas, they’re smaller companies that also offer private charter flights.

Which brings us to our next transportation option.

2. Choose from private charter flights

The Bahamas is a hub for private jets, with over 20 airports in the country. If you don’t want to share your flight with strangers or prefer to have a more exclusive, intimate experience, a charter flight might be a solid option.

Of course, the flight time is still the same. But everything around the flight is more of a sophisticated, elite experience. After getting off a long flight to Nassau, you might crave a bit more pampering and comfort as you travel to Staniel Cay.

Here are some options for private charter flights:

  • Monarch Air Group: Operating since 2006, Monarch Air Group offers private charter flights on a variety of aircraft that can carry between 3 and 9 passengers. You can also arrange flights to multiple cities if you want to extend your travels to more islands in The Bahamas. Pricing ranges anywhere from $10,000 to $55,000, depending on your booking details and time before the flight.
  • Evo Jets: This established charter flight company flies all over Canada, the US, and the Caribbean. They offer small and large jets, even one that can hold up to 63 people (exclusive destination wedding, anyone?)
  • Noble Air Charters: Based in Florida, Noble Air Charters has been in the business for over 20 years and offers luxurious, personalized travel, whether for business or travel.

3. Travel by boat

Put on your sunscreen and cruise along the Caribbean Sea from Nassau to Staniel Cay! This option is a little longer than flying, but believe us — the views and energy are worth it. Imagine the hot sun warming you up from the inside, with the rush of wind from the moving boat cooling you off every time it gets a little too warm. If you’re lucky, you’ll even see some marine wildlife like pelicans or dolphins on the 1.5-hour boat ride from Nassau to Staniel Cay.

The first option? Use your own rental boat. You can even dock it at our Copasetic villa with its private marina before relishing views of the James Bond sight, Thunder Grotto.

Of course, not everyone brings one with them to their Bahamas vacation! Not to worry — you have a few options for boat rentals and even yacht trips via the Staniel Cay Yacht Club. We recommend you reach out to them to see if they can find you a spot on a member yacht for your travels.

Additionally, our team here at Staniel Rental offers boat rentals based on availability. They’re most popular for daytime sea excursions like snorkeling or dolphin-gazing — but we’ve used them to transport guests to and from Nassau as well!
